A brochure describing your art, products or services is another form of advertising. Brochures are a fairly inexpensive marketing tool to help you reach more customers. Your brochure can be handed out at shows and events or left with prospective clients.

Why make a catalog for your art show? All high-quality art shows use a show catalog to enable prospective art buyers to identify the art they are interested in. This is especially important at a multi-artist show, but it is equally important at a one-man show because although a buyer might not purchase an art piece at the show, later when they are thinking of decorating their home or office if they have the catalog to refer to, they might just contact the artist about art they particularly liked during the show.

Flyers are advertisements pure and simple. A flyer can feature anything from an up-coming art show to a spring sale of products or be used to advertise services. If you have ever included information with an invoice and later found out that your customer didn’t even see it you know the importance of a sharp looking flyer that immediately attracts attention. Why not let someone with skills make it for you so that you can get on with creating art or running your business?

A calendar with pictures of your Art or Store hanging on the wall is a constant reminder to prospective customers and clients about you and your business.

Your business logo is your brand (a very important marketing tool). Everyone recognizes McDonald’s golden arches;  your logo should immediately call to mind your business and it should say who you are and what you do. Creating one if you aren’t an artist or don’t have graphic skills sometimes makes for a lot of false starts. Why waste your valuable time? Instead tell the artist what you want and let the artist create your logo.

A sharp looking product catalog can increase your sales, but unfortunately preparing one can take a lot of time away from building your business; time that you should be spending increasing your business. All you should have to provide are photos of the products and a price list.

A successful art show begins with a well-designed prospectus. It should be eye-catching enough to attract attention without sacrificing information. Quite frankly as an artist who has entered many shows I have made the decision not to enter a show because the prospectus was so poorly done I felt the show would also be badly run and might not attract the kind of clientele who might be interested in buying art. First and last, the prospectus is simply an entry form; an interesting design with easy to read instructions will attract artists to enter which in turn will make it easier to draw in buyers to see the show.

However not every organization or company has someone with the graphic skills or time to prepare a newsletter.
