Artist Call for the Swedish Festival Fine Art Show. Kingsburg’s Swedish Festival, which is the biggest and most known of the national Swedish festivals, brings people in from all over the country. It is held annually during the third weekend in May. Activities include a juried fine art show sponsored by the Kingsburg Art Center, a Swedish pancake breakfast, a parade, and the coronation of the Swedish Festival Queen. Many booths, rides and activities are set up all along the side of Downtown Kingsburg's Draper Street. The Show opens May 18th 2012 and will run until July 16, 2012. The Gallery is open Mon-Saturday; 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19th only from 9:00 – 3:00. Remaining Saturday hours are from 11:00 – 3:00 as usual.
RECEIVING: Wednesday, May 16, 2012 from 12 noon. To 3:00 p.m., at the Kingsburg Art Center: 1332 Draper St., Kingsburg, CA. Judging on Thursday, May 17, 2012. Due to limited space this show may be juried. AWARDS: Cash and Ribbons for Best of Show. 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category. Must be 7 entries in each category for monetary awards. Categories may be combined for judging purposes at the judge’s discretion.
Categories for the fine art show: Oils, Acrylics, Watercolor, Pastel, Drawing, Mixed Media, Sculpture, Fine Art Photography (includes all fine art photography, digitally enhanced photos [photos taken by the artist and altered by that artist] and computer generated art [art done completely on a computer by the artist]).
