Still Life Art has a long tradition. Many of the paintings done by the old masters were still life. Still life is usually considered to be paintings of flowers, fruit, or other objects. I consider this type of art a real challenge; not only are they much smaller canvases than I usually work on, but because I also have a hard time resisting the urge to put some type of critter in my paintings.
